BINGE RAMPAGE Harry Potter

The Wizarding World, in order.

The whole story on one spine — from Newt Scamander's case of creatures in 1926, through the seven years that made Harry the Boy Who Lived, to the platform at King's Cross nineteen years on. And because this story has been told more than once, every event carries its tellings: which book, which film, and where it lands in the new HBO series — one season per book.

Dates are the in-story years, not release years (those live on each event's chips and in The Films). The Fantastic Beasts films are prequels with no book and no announced HBO season, so they carry a film chip only. The 1899, 1943 and 1945 markers are backstory the saga tells in flashback.

Same story, three tellings.

Seven books became eight films — and are now becoming an HBO series, one season per book. Here they are side by side, so you can see exactly which movie (and which upcoming season) matches the book you know. The only split: the final book, Deathly Hallows, was cut into two films.

HBO Season
HBO plan: Season 1 (Philosopher's Stone) premieres Dec 25, 2026; Season 2 (Chamber of Secrets) is already renewed and films in late 2026. Seasons 3–7 follow the announced “one faithful season per book” plan across roughly a decade — they're projected from that plan, not yet individually greenlit. There's also a full-cast audio adaptation (Audible, from 2025, with Hugh Laurie as Dumbledore and Riz Ahmed as Snape), and the stage sequel Cursed Child — both on the Wizarding World spine.

Eleven films, one marathon.

The eight-film Harry Potter saga plus the three Fantastic Beasts prequels. Watch in release order (how the world met them) or story order (Fantastic Beasts first, 1926 onward). Tick each one to build your progress — it feeds My Binge back on the Hub.

The reboot: HBO's Harry Potter.

A decade-long, book-faithful retelling for television — a fresh young cast, a heavyweight bench of grown-ups, and a plan to give each novel a whole season to breathe. Here's where it stands.
