Netflix recently announced a “Ride Along” reunion in the form of actor Kevin Hart and director Tim Story coming together for a wild comedy film that’s based on a true story called “72 Hours”. Sony Picuts and Davis Entertainment will be producing (who notably produced most of the Predator franchise and “I, Robot”), with Cobra Kai Creators Hayden Schlossburg and Jon Hurwitz on board as Writers and Producers.
The film will focus on a 40 year old comedian who accidentally gets invited to a bachelor party for twenty-somethings…and decides to go. The plot starts funny enough as Hart is accidentally included on a chain of young men across the country planning a massive bachelor party. There’s more to the invite to the party than meets the eye, but we will leave story spoilers out of this article.

Production is slated to start in June and run through to sometime in August with Miami, Florida (the location of the bachelor party) and New Jersey are the only rumored locations so far. Kevin Hart’s Hartbeart, Counterbalance and Will Packer are also producing.
The first draft of the script for this project was written almost a decade ago according to Jon Hurwitz. The Cobra Kai creators were the original authors (which aligns with the reported shooting locations in New Jersey) and have collaborated with writers Matt MIder & Kevin Burrows on updating the script for todays audiences.
Kevin Hart is a very bankable actor and this move seems like a slam dunk for all involved, especially the Cobra Kai team. Only question we are wondering is…where is Josh Heald?
