MCU Diehards are placing high hopes in Daredevils impending return to the small screens via Disney+ after a less than stellar critical reception of Captain America’s fourth installment. It’s worth noting the movie did well in the box office, but just how much of that rode on Caps existing franchise charisma and the novelty of Harrison Ford Hulking out?
Marvels Television Head, Brad Winerbaum has been parsing out morsels of hope for those that still believe the MCU can return to its glory days. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com about the launch of Daredevil: Born Again, the executive has called the return of the remaining Netflix Defenders Squad in some form or another “Inevitable” (OK Thanos). On top of that, a Punisher special has recently been announced that will air during Daredevils season 2 in 2026.

During that same interview, the Marvel big wig let us know that the aim is to put out seasons yearly, a trend which the TV industry as a whole has been ignoring for the last 5 years (thanks Netflix & Covid). Making this promise while taking about a fan favorite show that had it’s 18 episode run halved to 9 and has suffered heavy delays is a bold move. Stagnation in any popular franchise isn’t a good thing for the industry so hopefully the Marvel exec can deliver.
During that interview, Winderbaum admitted that Phase 4’s TV side has not always gone as planned and that moving forward their “priorities have shifted.” The exec went on to talk about Marvel TV as a whole, saying: “We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.” Our theory is that we will see Moon Knight again in Secret Wars or one of the films leading up to Secret Wars.
Phase 4’s biggest mistake was introducing too many characters but it’s unfortunate that we haven’t seen anymore of the vengeful, troubled hero.
Where might we see Marc again? Looking at the Marvel lineup, the Blade Project or previously mentioned Punisher Special could be the perfect home for some Moon Knight style justice!
