If the recent numbers for superhero trailers are any indication of who might win the summer box office, DC is the front-runner for once. Superman smashed every DC/Warner Bros. trailer record to get their spot in the top 10 trailers of all time at 250 million views in its first day. This was a significant bump from the 202 milllion that the fantastic four promo has garnered in its first day. Is this a sign of the passing of the torches between the 2 biggest comic franchises of all time? Superman even beats out Infinity Wars trailer which became the world record holder at 230 million views.

Currently, Deadpool & Wolverine’s promo sits at the top Spot with over 365 million views in its first 24. No Way Homes trailer is a close second at 355 million but both trailers have asterisks next to their spots because they were Superbowl ads which gave them an obvious bump.
At 289 million views in the first day. Endgame’s trailer was more heavily viewed than Superman’s but that was also the culmination of over 10 years and 3 phases of marvel studios laying the groundwork. To say a lot is riding on the release of James Gunn’s Superman is an understatement, the DC franchise will live or die by this movie.

Unfortunately, we will all have to wait until July to find out if Gunn can deliver the goods. A super powered dog is definitely a good start!
