If it wasn’t for “Avengers: Doomsday”, the next chapter in Spider-Man’s MCU would likely be the most anticipated film of the year. Although we’ve seen 4 different ‘Doomsday’ teasers, there hasn’t been anything from the fourth Spidey film officially released…although there have been a significant amount of leaks and photos/footage floating around on Twitter and other sites.
Today, Tom Holland revealed that we will finally be getting a trailer for the highly anticipated Spider-Man movie…but with a really strange twist. Holland released a cryptic video message through the @spidermanmovie account for Spider-Man on Instagram earlier today. He started the video predictably by thanking the fans: “Hey, what’s up, guys? It’s Tom here, and we are working on something incredibly exciting for the release of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer…Now, it goes without saying that we have had so much love and support since day dot of making these movies, and without that incredible community, there would be no Spider-Man.” But the message got real weird, real quick.
Although we’ve seen 4 different ‘Doomsday’ teasers, there hasn’t been anything from the fourth Spidey film officially released…although there have been a significant amount of leaks and photos/footage floating around on Twitter and other sites. “
Holland continued: “So, to show you our appreciation, we are doing something that has never been done before. Follow along as a brand new day starts across the world, and some of our greatest fans are going to help us release pieces of our new trailer. I will see you tomorrow morning, bright and early, in New York City. I’m passing it over to the fans. This is all about community. This is all about being together. So let’s go…” He is right about the fact that this hasn’t been done before. It’s unclear who these super fans are – can WE get in on it? Binge Rampage is the home of the ONLY full chronological cut of the MCU+ that’s over 480 hours…are we big enough fans?
Our own selfish self interests aside, this strategy seems weird to us but it may be a stroke of marketing genius. After the original trailer was leaked a few months ago, it’s unclear whether or not a new trailer has been cut or we will be getting better quality pieces of footage of a promo some fans have already seen. Throughout the day, various fans across the world will release chunks of the trailer before the full promo is finally released sometime early tomorrow in NYC with a possible surprise event to coincide with the release. To get fans excited, the process has already started, with the Peruvian IG account pol_deportes (833K followers) sharing the first piece of the puzzle. The shot shows Spidey web-slinging while saving someone and appears to be inspired by a classic cover from the comics while an unfamiliar voice says the word “Rebirth”. If each piece of the trailer is going to be this short, tomorrow is going to be a loooooonnnnngggggg day.

We are optimistic there will be footage that differs from the original leaked trailer, but it’s possible that we will just get higher quality versions of everything, which is still a win although maybe not worth a scavenger hunt. By the time the movie is released in about 4 and a half months, it will have been 4 and a half years since we last saw Spidey in ‘No Way Home’, which feels like a crazy window to keep one of Marvel’s top tier characters sidelined. This will also mark the first time that original MCU Spider-Man trilogy director Jon Watts isn’t at the helm, with ‘Shang-Chi’ Director stepping in for this fourth and pivotal chapter in Peter Parker’s evolution.
Fans are already extremely hyped up after the reveal that both Punisher and Savage Hulk both appearing in the film. Sadie Sink is also confirmed for the move but her character details have been kept tightly under wraps. There has been intense rumors pointing to the “Stranger Things” star being cast as Jean Gray, but there has been no official confirmation. It’s still unclear how or if Parker will be able to bring back the memories he created with Zendaya’s character MJ along with his best friend Ned who is played by Jacob Batalon. There’s have been rumors Ned will transformed to the Hobgoblin in ‘Brand New Day’, but no credible details as of yet. Sink is also rumored to appear in ‘Secret Wars’, but we’re more concerned with 2026 and how well the MCU will do before we look forward to ‘Secret Wars’.

As ‘Doomsday’ approaches, the Binge Rampage team will be doing a daily screening of our massive chronocut of the MCU+ leading up to the release date in December. Starting May 12th, we will be rewatching, recapping and reviewing every last bit of the MCU+ along with every deleted scene*. If you are interested in being a part of our screenings and you own all the MCU releases, reach out to any of our socials to see if we can do a little Binging together.

For now, we will focus on the next Spider-Man movie and each teaser and trailer leading up to the film’s release on July 31st. How Spider-Man will fit into ‘Doomsday’ is anyone’s guess, but it’s likely the world’s favorite web-slinger will have at least a small role in the massive crossover. We do expect that Spider-Man will have a more central role in ‘Secret Wars’ while rumors have persisted that Maguire’s Spidey along with Wolverine will be the leads in the retelling of the highly revered crossover event of Marvel Comics lore.
What do you think? Will we see black costume Spidey? Will Gwen Stacy steal Peter’s heart? Who is Sadie Sink? Will this trailer give us new footage that nobody has seen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
