Former Orphan Black star(s) Tatiana Maslany will be leading a new 10-episode Apple TV+ series called “Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed”. The series was developed and will be EP’d by Simon Kinberg (“Sugar”/”Deadpool & Wolverine”) and Audrey Chon (“Invasion”/”The Twilight Zone”).
The show will be a 30 minute dark comedy/thriller that revolves around Maslany’s character, a recently divorced mom who gets wrapped up in murder and extortion while still maintaining her soccer mom status. We are expecting something close to Maslany’s performance as Alison Hendrix in Orphan Black, but the Creator, David Rosen from Prime Video’s “Hunters” may go in a much darker direction.

The Director, David Gordon Green comes from a Horror Background (“Halloween”/”Halloween Kills”) but more recently has worked on HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones” and “Nutcrackers” with Ben Stiller for Hulu. His experience and overlapping genres along with Emmy Award Winning Maslany should make for a dynamite combination.

What do you think? Is Apple TV+ putting ut too many series? Should they focus on franchise flagpoles or keep up their variety strategy?
