It’s not long before the series jumps forward 5 year’s but it seems the ghosts of Joel’s past decisions will come back to haunt the duo and set the chain of events that is Season 2 into motion. Unfortunately, the episode count has been cut down to 7 and we know for sure that this season will not end on a resolution…but instead with a big cliffhanger that will guarantee us a third and sadly final season. Edit: Since publication of this article, the series has in fact been renewed for a Season 3.

Season 2 and a likely Season 3 in late 2026 are all we have, so let’s hope they are peak TV at it’s finest.

After the success of “A Minecraft Movie” and the vast popularity of “The Last of Us” and “Fallout, video game adaptations are not going anywhere anytime soon, especially in a time where a Marvel blockbuster is not a guaranteed meal ticket for the studios. Can “The Last of Us” keep up it’s massive hype? If the reviews are any indication then, yes…but reviews and audiences have not been indicative of each others cinematic desires for sometime now.
