The MCU and its connected universes (or MCU+ as we like to call it) have shown us vast displays of power in the past 25 years but we’ve barely seen any cosmic entities get down and dirty in live action. Our ranking here is based off of what’s been told in random voiceovers for the brief moments we’ve seen these powerful cosmic characters along with evidence of the strength of their comic counterparts.
Starting the list is Galactus who has only been seen in an MCU teaser but was also shown (kind of) in Fantadtic 4’s Rise of the Silver Surfer film in 2007. We know Galactus is more powerful than just about anything, but he has been stalemated by Odin and roughed up by Thanos so he stays at the bottom of the list although it’s worth noting if Galactus was fully fed he would punch a little higher up but he just barely edges out the Phoenix force which we saw briefly in Dark Phoenix.
Galactus is more powerful than just about anything, but he has been stalemated by Odin and roughed up by Thanos…
Next up would be one of the Celestials, Arishem the Judge. We got a good insight into his character and power set during the “Eternals” film but objectively, his power is almost abstract. It’s only a well fed Galactus that could take on Arishem otherwise the Celestial wins. He has the ability to easily destroy planets and is almost all powerful.
Following the top dog Celestial is Dormammu who also has his own asterisk of having to fight in his dark dimension. We know that Doctor Strange trapped this powerhouse and beat him in the first Strange film, but that was using an infinity stone and didn’t make Strange stronger than the evil being by beating him with a technicality. Dormammu in the comics has beaten Celestials and the extent of his powers are still unclear. Dormammu fought the next being on our list almost to a stalemate before finally losing.

Next up is Eternity, who was only briefly depicted in “Thor: Love and Thunder” but has vast power in every universe he exists in and who are all equal parts of a greater whole, meaning each version of Eternity makes the overall Eternity exponentially stronger. This powerhouse is basically unfathomable.

- Knull*
- Eternity
- Dormammu*
- Arishem the Judge
- Galactus*
Basically the only stronger being we’ve seen show off any type of power in the MCU+ is Knull in Venoms Last Dance. Dude is an elder god that’s literally older than existence and has one-shotted Celestials. He created the Necrosword which transformed Gorr from a scrub to a God Butcher so basically he’s all powerful…
The only asterisk above Knull is someone we’ve seen briefly in a cameo (in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness“) who we can’t fully give the #1 slot to and that’s The Living Tribunal. The Tribunal in the comics has power that dwarves Eternities and even a Necrosworded Knull couldn’t really do much damage to this top tier entity. There are a few beings maybe stronger than the Living Tribunal in the comics, but we haven’t seen them in live-action just yet. There is one character that may end up being stronger than the Tribunal (might be) and that is Multiversal Loki. We know that Loki can go anywhere in time and space but his durability and strength seem the same. When you control time, does durability and strength matter? There’s so little we know about the character who could end up being the MCU’s version of the Beyonder but he definitely belongs at least in the honorable mentions.
