Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki have been reunited with Jensen Ackles and possibly a few other “Supernatural” cast mates just in time for the final season of “The Boys.” It’s unclear if Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s alterego character will return or any other alum from CW’s 15 season Sci-Fi Drama (originally on The WB).
The news of the ‘reunion’ was shared via “The Boys” IG and featured a toss from Jensen Ackles to his two former co-stars along with a prop vehicle from the old series. Fans of both shows are ecstatic, even though both actors have been described as playing guest roles. The Boys is shooting it’s fifth and last season right now, but production details are scarce. We know the series is supposed to film until late spring/early summer and according to a Karl Urban IG post, we won’t get to see anything new until 2026. A whole year folks, yay.

Padalecki and Barton’s addition to the cast is not a huge surprise, as “The Boys”series creator Eric Kripke also created “Supernatural” and has expressed interest in reuniting the two actors for some time. Variety has also seemingly confirmed Padalecki will be starring in “Vought Rising” the upcoming prequel series starring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, which was announced all the way back at SDCC ’24.
The creator Kripke has said that the series is now in it’s endgame and that they are altering scripts in real time to be able to reference (farcically) current events in real time. How far gone a power mad Homelander will be is anyone’s guess and Soldier Boy is probably the biggest wild card left to play.
As far as hat’s next for the universe, “Vought Rising” and “Gen V” seem poised to carry the torch, but how will those shows fare when the flagship is gone? If TWD’s vast universe is any indicator, it’s going to be a rocky road ahead for Kripke and company.
