‘Revenge of the Sith’ is currently in theaters, celebrating the upcoming 20th anniversary of when fans finally got to see the Jedi Anakin Skywalker turned into feared 80’s villain, Darth Vader. Fans of the Hayden Christensen version of Skywalker were stoked to find out that the actor would be reprising his role as Anakin in “Ahsoka” season 2.
During Star Wars Celebration 2025, GAMING BIBLE & IGN caught up with the actor, who seemed very excited about returning to the role one more time. When asked about the possibility of doing other live-action series, Hayden answered he ‘would love’ to do more isn the future and mused about telling a story during the ‘Clone Wars’ era, which was mostly only covered in the animated series. The actor realized some aging magic would need to be done, but overall seemed very excited at the possibility of once again playing a powerful Jedi…with a dark side.

When asked about the character who turned Anakin in to Vader, Christensen commented on Obi-Wan Kenobi actor Ewan McGregor, saying: “I would love to get to do that with Ewan (McGregor). I know that he’s game too. So maybe one day the fans will get what they want.” The fact that both teacher and student want to go backhand tell such an important story in the Star Wars Universe timeline is reason for celebration, but we also understand a green light from any studo takes more than a few actor being willing.
What we are more curious about is the fact that Christensen has also made comments in 2022 about wanting to do a Vader series chronicling the Sith Legend’s rise to power. There has been no recent chatter about any other renter of Vader, but the characters return in the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” was received somewhat favorably from a notoriously tough fanbase (writing troubles aside). Could “Ahsoka” season 2 be a back door into a Vader/Anakin prequel series?

If that’s the case, LucasFilms and Disney remain quiet about everything, but we do have hopes that the “Ahsoka” season 2 Anakin storyline will setup something bigger. No official offers have been made to McGregor or Christensen yet, but we will stay searching the far ends of the galaxy for any proof of a possible new spin-off featuring Ankain, Vader or both.

What do you think? Will “Ahsoka” season 2 blow the fans away? Or will it be another mid-level show in the Disney+ arsenal? Will we ever get to see Vader in his prime again? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
