Cobra Kai Star Ralph Macchio gave fans some hope for the revival of another beloved cult classic film, My cousin Vinny March 22nd at Paleyfest in an interview with People. When asked about a sequel for the fan favorite film he said he’s “had conversations with other writers about that.”
Macchio talked about needing to find the right angle, but he also alluded to the biggest piece of the puzzle being missing…Joe Pesci. Macchio floated the possibility of Pesci doing the project over Zoom or FaceTime – but could a My Cousin Vinny sequel be feasible without Vinny, live in the flesh?

Marissa Tomei, who won an Oscar for her work on the movie is on record as being very interested in a sequel but Pesci hasn’t talked about the movie in ages. Pesci’s last project wrapped in 2023 but he did have a memorable stint on the Pete Davidson led series “Bupkis”.
Pesci retired from acting over a quarter of a century go, but that doesn’t stop him from doing a project if he really loves it. If he loved “Bupkis” and “The Irishman” enough to come out of retirement, can Macchio and his mysterious writers create the script to get the old band back together?

At 82, is Pesci up for such a huge role? We hope so, but with so many revival ideas being tossed around, it’s anyone’s guess!
